The Heckler & Koch Mark 23 is a .45 ACP pistol with a 5.87 inch threaded barrel and 12+1 capacity. It was developed for U.S. Special Operations Command as a large-frame combat pistol and uses a corrosion-resistant blued steel slide on a fiber-reinforced polymer frame. Two 12-round magazines, ambidextrous controls, and a frame accessory rail complete the package.
The threaded O-ring barrel has a polygonal bore and is paired with a one-piece machined steel slide. A frame-mounted decocker and a separate ambidextrous safety lever allow DA/SA carry options. The extractor also serves as a loaded chamber indicator, and a lock-out safety device is included.
Fixed sights use an open square-notch rear with contrast points. An oversized trigger guard is intended for use with gloves, and the magazine release and slide release are extended. At 9.65 inches overall and 39.36 oz with magazine, the Mark 23 is a full-size .45 ACP pistol suited to duty, range use, and collecting.
